St. Andrew's Priory Holiday Fair

Saturday, November 19th - St. Andrew's Priory held its Holiday Fair on the grounds of the school in Downtown Honolulu.  We were blessed with a light rain in the morning, but the rest of the day was beautiful.  There were yummy food trucks and food booths - I saw an ice cream truck, Fairy Cakes was there, so was India Cafe, and there was a booth selling gourmet bacon wrapped hot dogs - YUM!!! 

The craft fair was held in the Gym.  I was so blessed to be back again this year to share Scentsy with all who stopped by.  A special thanks goes out to Carolyn Kobayashi who helped me the entire day from set up to break down!  Carolyn - you ROCK!!!   We met so many new people and saw many customers from last year - we had a really GREAT time!

I truly LOVE craft fairs and events.  I have so much fun talking to people, seeing them light up when they experience Scentsy and the joy that Scentsy brings. 

My most cherished customer of the day was a little girl and her father.  They stopped by very early in the day, she was wearing a ballerina outfit as she was on her way to try out for the Nutcracker.  She saw Lenny our little lamb Scentsy Buddy who is so cuddly and soft and fell in love with him.  They promised to come back.  After her tryout, they returned and she told me that she did GREAT!  She went straight over to Lenny, picked him up and hugged & squeezed him.  She picked out our Sweet Pea & Vanilla scent pack to go with Lenny.  She took one sniff of the scent pack and let out a long "Ahhhhhhh".  I told her that now that Lenny is her's she can name him anything she wanted. She decided to keep his name as is.  She gave me a GREAT BIG HUG and was so happy to take Lenny home!

Another lady walked by and her face just lit up!   "Ahhhhh, Scentsy!"  She yelled!  My friend just bought me the Grotto plug-in warmer as a gift yesterday!  She went on-line the night before to search for Scentsy and read all about it!  She was excited to see me the very next day - god works in marvelous ways!  I had my scent testers on the table, and she found Luna from our Romance collection.  Her daughter's name is Luna.  What a wonderful surprise!

We received many compliments about our table and how festive and colorful our display  looked.  A very special thank you goes out to my hubby for putting together my new shelf display and my peg board for hanging up our yummy scented wax!   The display shelf worked wonderfully! 

And a special thank you goes out to Deb the organizer of the event!  Deb - you are totally awesome!  She helped me carry all my stuff from the car, she kept us updated on important information about the event, and kept coming around to make sure that we were ok and if we needed water.  Deb - you are the BEST!  I am so delighted and honored to have been a part of this wonderful event!

Note to Santa

A Different Kind of Party

Have you ever been asked to attend or host a home party?  My first home party I attended was an Arbonne party.  The only reason why I attended that party was because I really liked the Consultant, she was very fun to be around, and I was looking for a part-time job to help pay the bills.  I didn't want to work at the mall, I wanted something flexible, something that I could build.  So I went to the party, by myself to check it out.  We had a lot of fun slathered on creams and tonics to make our skin and ourselves feel beautiful, and it did!  The products were amazing. 

So here I am today, a Scentsy Consultant having a ball getting people "Scentsy-fied" and addicted to our yummy smell goods by hosting fun Scentsy parties.  What makes my Scentsy parties different from any other home party?  Well, I don't teach you anything, we don't hold a class or a workshop, we don't make crafts or cards or stamps, I don't make you take off your makeup in front of a room full of people, I don't help you lose weight.  We make you smile and giggle smelling our Newborn Nursery scent.  You remember your first born child, changing his diapers as he squirts you for the first time.  Or you remember your cozy winters by the fireplace when you lived in Seattle or Minnesota as you smell our Cozy Fireside scent.  Or you relax and smile as you breathe in the delicate fragrances of our Flutter scent (my FAVE).  This is what Scentsy does to you.  It envelopes your room with your favorite scents.  It warms the heart, enlivens the senses and inspires the soul!  Once you have tried Scentsy, you will be hooked, just like I was.

Talking to God

Do you do it?  Do you talk to God, the Universe, a higher being, or just talk to yourself?  I decided about a month ago to talk to God every night before I go to sleep and every morning when I wake up.  What do we talk about?  At night I thank him for all of the blessings that he has given me that day.  I thank him for the new customer who has just fallen in LOVE with Scentsy because she saw it at her friend's house and is excited to have a party so she can see and smell everything and share it with her friends, or being invited to come back to a craft fair that I did last year - and I was the very first person they contacted (what an honor), or my child and husband raved about the dinner that I cooked that night, being thankful that I have 2 crazy cats and that my Kili is still with me after over 15 years together.  Whatever thing that touched my heart that day - that is what I give thanks for.  No matter how big or how small. 

In the morning, I thank him for the wonderful day that I am going to have, remind myself that I am open to receive amazing business opportunities today, and give thanks and appreciation for the wonderful things that I have.

Since I have started talking to God, I have received blessings each and every day.  Maybe before this, I didn't really pay attention.  Maybe I was receiving lots of opportunities and blessings but I didn't hear or see it.  Maybe I was focusing on the negative or trying to "chase" too hard so what I was receiving was a lot of nothing!   I have decided to focus on the positive, count my blessings, appreciate the opportunities that come my way, and help the people who loves what I have to offer. 

Are you having a tough time?  Are you struggling in some way?  Are your emotions torn, not sure which direction to go?  You have a choice - rise up and focus on the positive, focus on the good that is around you, gravitate towards people who can lift you up and encourage you - talk to God, or your inner self each night and morning about the positive and successful YOU.  Then listen and receive. 

Ahuimanu Fun & Craft Fair

What a fun event!  There were inflatables and carnival rides for the kids, prize giveaways throughout the day, great entertainment, and lots of vendors to browse and shop.  A very special thank you goes out to Tanya for organizing the event - everything went so smoothly and fun was had by all!  We had a light shower blessing of cool Windward rain in the morning and the rest of the day was absolutely beautiful.

I love coming out to craft fairs and expos.  I get to talk to and meet with so many people, and get instant feedback on their favorite scents and the warmer designs the they like the most.  Flutter and Just Breathe were the favorite scents of the day and the Grotto and Heavenly plug-in warmers were the favorite warmers.  And I loved seeing kids faces light up with a big smile when they smell Happy Birthday - it always brings a smile to those that smell it.

I also got to reconnect with some very special friends that I hadn't seen in years.  Wendall, Charlene & Tissy had a booth 2 spaces down from me.  I used to be Wendall & Charlene's  Assistant years ago (and I mean YEARS), I remember when Tissy was just an elementary schooler.  She is now grown with a child of her own and another on the way.   I also saw Gina who I used to work with many moons ago.  So many fond memories and lots of hugs all around.

My best memory of the day was when this one family walked by.  I gave one of the guys (a big guy with long hair and sunglasses) my scent sample / business card.  "Want a smell good?" I asked.  He smelled it, came over and said, what is this?  I explained about the warmer with a light bulb instead of a flamed scented candle.  And how the wax is warmed by the light bulb which makes it really safe.  As the wax melts, it makes your whole room smell really good!  He was so excited, he brought the rest of his family over and explained to them all about  Scentsy.  He kept saying, its a light bulb, its a light bulb.  I was so tickled to see how excited they were.  It was like that throughout the day.  I love sharing Scentsy and seeing how excited people get by it.

My next event will be on Saturday, October 1st at the Windward Hoolaulea at the Windward Community College.  It will be from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm.  Come down and visit.  I'll have our NEW solid perfumes, new Fall / Winter scents, and our beautiful warmers on hand.  See you there!
